How Can A Patient Be Sure If The Product Label Is Gluten free
How can a patient be sure if the product label is gluten-free?
Thanks to the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Act, which is now Public Law No. 108-282. It requires food manufacturers to clearly state if the product contains any of the major food allergens and establish guidelines in labeling ‘gluten-free’. Gluten allergy patients should have sufficient, comprehensive information at their own hands to easily identify the ingredients of a product.
You can check the back label of the product; food manufacturers usually include toll free customer service numbers. You can call them anytime if you are doubtful about a certain ingredient.
